Education
Samba teaches, too.
Carnival is history, ancestry, music, literature, dance, visual arts, technology, labor, and popular culture.
The Educational Program at Rio Carnaval Expo invites students and educators to step into this universe, discover the wealth of knowledge that builds a parade, and see how different fields of knowledge can parade together.
Because learning can find its rhythm, too.
We welcome schools, institutions, and groups for specially tailored visits designed to enrich their experience with the exhibition's content.
TeachersSupport materials help educators prepare for the visit and continue the discussions in the classroom.
Educational materialFrom the origins of Carnival to Sapucaí: texts, questions, challenges, and activities for before, during, and after the visit.
Carnival as Experience, Heritage, and Knowledge
The Educational Program at Rio Carnaval Expo stems from a central idea: the Carnival of the samba schools is simultaneously an artistic expression, a community practice, memory, labor, technology, and a way of storytelling about Brazil.
Collection, scenography, documents, costumes, instruments, testimonials, interactive features, and immersive environments form a journey that spans from the origins of samba to the backstage of the parade, reaching the collective experience of the Avenue. Guided mediation organizes this encounter without turning the exhibition into a classroom.
